Official story:
A central feature of the Security Council Chamber is the oil canvas mural painted by the Norwegian artist Per Krogh. It depicts a phoenix rising from its ashes, as a symbol of the world being rebuilt after the Second World War. Above the dark sinister colours at the bottom different images in bright colours symbolizing the hope for a better future are depicted. Equality is symbolized by a group of people weighing out grain for all to share.
The blue and gold silk tapestry on the walls and in the draperies by the East River windows features the anchor of faith, the growing wheat of hope, and the heart of charity.

Actually if you're a particularly devoted Christian it's not hard to be annoyed at the UN, insofar as they promote a purely secular, atheistic global order.

If only it could be more atheistic. They are also too careful not to offend religious types, especially Muslims. Ideally Muslims would be forced to moderate their doctrine like Christians were 200-300 years ago, then we could have a pretty nice world here.

That makes no sense. The only way all religions can be valued and tolerated is if they're all equally wrong. If one of them is true and the others are false, we should promote the true religion and stamp out the false ones, since people's eternal lives depend on them believing correctly.

Secularism is not inherently atheist. It is inherently moderate and functions better in an atheist context but it is obviously not inherently atheist. Not all religions teach against tolerance, and Christianity, or Christ at least, seems to encourage it (over the use of the sword, at least).

An atheistic system would privilege atheism over religions, secularism doesnt privilege any belief system over any other. Given that most religions attempt to suppress other religions in within their influence, secularism can be argued to be very pro-religion
