Their sheer advantage in numbers was their only strength and they used it well. If you throw enough bodies at a problem you can usually come out on top. This is exactly why its a poor example. Its pretty fucking easy to overwhelm and isolate the enemy when you have no fucking supply chain for your own men. Many of the positions they overran and encircled were bases and airfields that the U.N. needed to resupply troops/provide air support.

Very few, most of the studies on Chinese tactics during the war are done from American observations. From the Chinese perspective there's very little academic study on war and the few books that are written about it have no English translations. There's one book about the war written by a retired Chinese general that focuses on the political aspect of the war and the secret dealings between Mao and Stalin.
