Did chivalry and bushido actually exist?

Chivalry did, bushido no.

kind of, there were codes of conduct that samurai had to obey or they would be ostracized/killed, but those codes tended to be open to interpretation, and changed with the times
Chivalry and Budhido were both creations by bored nobility whose families hadn't seen combat for generations
Bushido didn't have staying power. Another gimmicky mechanic, I wish they would bring back banding though
did they actually kill each other ir was it just the ancient equivalent of wrestling?

bump
Bushido is largely an invention of 19th century Japan. An attempt (a successful one) to instill a warrior mentality in the Japanese population as part of the Imperial government's plans to begin taking over Asia. Anything about "how to act in court and around lords" is not Bushido. That's just simple court etiquette that can be found in any other part of the world with lords and vassals.
Also, reminder to the weeaboos, samurai were not noble mysterious warriors. They were headhunters who often killed each other, lied about who's head they were presenting to their lords, and just in general were like any other shit-eating warrior-noble class throughout history.

Yes and no, they mostly harm each other but not outright kill.

Both.
