One girl is wearing a Polish cap and the other a Soviet one, plus they're both wearing earrings. That's just some crappy models with a B&W filter on it.

your post won't matter. that image has been reposted as "authentic" on 4chan since at least 2009. it's basically an internet myth by now.

its an authentic film tho :^)

They could be partisans?
>>1197502
I doubt it, I'm pretty sure it's a modern pic. The earrings are and makeup are the biggest giveaway. No real soldier, even female auxiliaries, are going to give a shit about their appearance in that regard, and certainly not soviet women in the 40's.

Here's some pics from the obviously superior Nationalist faction
>>1197628
>>1197628
Victorious Nationalists taking surrendering Republican troops as prisoners
>>1198078
>gets butthurt about his party losing the election
>launches a military coup against the democratically elected popular government, which fails miserably
>proceeds to invade his own country with a foreign army
>only wins because he has legions of foreigners with which to bomb and murder his own countrymen
>creates a brutal military dictatorship which establishes concentration camps and state terrorism
>decades later, he is celebrated as "based" by edgy teenagers on the internet
>>1198162
Not once did I say that Franco or his regime was "based" I was simply praising the Nationalist faction during the war. Stay mad, commie faggot.
>>1198227
>F-franco's faction was based! b-but yeah his regime w-wasn't, I guess...
Full damage control
>>1198227
Honestly I'm gonna have to agree that the Nationalists were assholes. Franco himself even said that he would line up half of Spain and execute them if he needed to. A republican victory would have been the best long-term hope for wider stability in Europe. If the allies hadn't been pussies and had intervened on the Republic's behalf, WW2 would have been very different, if it had happened at all. Fucking fascists.
>>1196730
Going to shoot a couple Russians
>>1198263
maybe if they weren't dirty gommies and anarchists the allies would have supported them
>>1198242
Franco may have been a dick, but the Nationalists were a lot better than the faggot Anarchists and Commie trash who infested the Republican faction.
>>1198263
The Wehrmacht simply would have overrun war torn spain. After WW2 though the allies could have set up a democracy so that spain would have had much fewer time under a dictatorship.
>>1196765
I wonder if those haircuts would be within regs today.
>>1197293
Mirin that dude's forearms.
>>1198291
Well the infighting on the Republican side certainly hurt them, and so did all the Stalinist bs the Soviets brought in. But if fucking Chamberlain had half spine and stood up to Hitler and Mussolini, history would have taken a very different course. Germany in '36/'37 was NOT ready for war with France or Britain, and certainly not both. The Spanish government provided the Allies with mountains of Evidence that there were German and Italian combat personnel fighting in Spain, but they stood by and did nothing. And now history remembers them for there incompetence and lack of decisiveness. GG Chamberlain and Daladier.
>>1198302
No, no they weren't. Not at all.
The Republicans were literally just the Spanish people defending their liberty against foreign invasion.
>>1198263
Republican (Moscow-aligned, communist dominated) Iberian peninsula would have meant German invasion of Spain and Portugal (since the Republicans wanted a united peninsula). A lefty Spain could never possibly have remained neutral, the only reason Spain wasn't occupied is because Hitler viewed Franco as an ally (Franco's Spain joined the anti-comintern pact.)
Basically, if Spain (and then inevitably Portugal) had been invaded by the Germans during the war - which would have been inevitable had the republicans won the war - then three things would have happened:
1. Portugal, which was the last escape route for literally millions of refugees fleeing Nazi Europe, becomes Nazi puppet state/is occupied, ensuring the death of at least thousands of political and ethnic refugees from the Nazis.
2. Germans now control the navy ports of the Iberian peninsula, and most likely Portugal's bases on the Azores too. This gives the Germans an advantage in the Atlantic, not to mention the fact that the Azores - as it happened - ended up as a vital naval base for the allies later on in the war, not just for air-supremacy over most of the Atlantic but also as a stop-off for flights between America and Europe.
3. Germans have strategic control over the entrance to the mediterranean and have a much more powerful position over North Africa. This puts Patin's eventual North-African campaign in to question, not least with respect to maintaining a safe supply chain.
Neutral Spain and Portugal were an absolutely massive help to the allies, mores than if they had joined on the Allied side, since the Wehrmacht would have just curb stomped them.
>>1198366
thats not accurate at all, you realise the population was split roughly 50-50 republican to nationalist?

You misunderstood what I'm saying. If Britain and France had prevented Fascist intervention in Spain, it's quite possible that the Republic might have won. Also, if Hitler had been given a clear message not to mettle in other countries affairs, he would likely not have gone for Czechoslovakia and then Poland. The only reason Hitler annexed or invaded those countries is because he knew the western Allies were impotent and unwilling to risk military conflict with him. If it had come to open war over the Sudetenland Germany would have lost. The Wehrmacht was nowhere near ready for all out war in 36, 37, or 38. Hitler knew this, that's why he schemed and calculated the way he did. He correctly gambled that the British and French would allow him to bully other nations out of fear of another Great War. But the great tragedy is, a WW2 that breaks out in 38 over Czechoslovakia would have been FAR less destructive and lengthy. So basically, Spain was the first domino that led to appeasement of Hitler.

you got any british stuff?
>>1199798
never understood how the fuck did that work and after reading this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wz._35_anti-tank_rifle#Description i had more doubts than certainties
supposedly it was meant to be used as a barrett but it fired regular bullets, so calling it anti-tank is probably very excessive... the best it might have done it to have stopped a light vehicle like a jeep or similar
A lot of Eternal Anglo BLOOD ITT
>>1199870
>Anglo
>>1199822
You're really underestimating the penetration power of anti-tank rifles and overestimating the armor of early-war tanks and other AFVs. While ATRs did become obsolete fairly early in the war, they did serve a purpose in 1939-42 or so.
German Fallschirmjaeger drop onto Crete during Operation Mercury
dude, that looks an awful lot like C-47, not Ju-52s
>>1200329
Look at the front of the aircraft, you can see the propeller on the nose of the planes, C47 didn't have that. You can also see the Iron Cross on the back of the fuselage. Pic related.
>>1200329
Crete was in inside job.
>>1200329
>>1200334
Well, ok. After some googling I'm getting a few different sources for that pic but none say Crete. Most seem to indicate it is indeed operation dragoon but a few others say Market Garden. I don't remember where I found the picture, but the description said it was taken on Crete so I just went with it.
>>1200338
nigga there is no propeller on the nose, also the tail shape is wrong, and the wing tips look round, not squared off.
I don't see the iron cross at all, it looks more like the american star.
also, you look up pics of the invasion of Crete and the terrain is wrong too.
