Volksgrenadiers. Even as early as Market Garden, the Germans were scraping the bottom of the barrel. As the war grew later, it got even worse. Half the time, they couldn't even outfit these kids with actual equipment so they were closer to ragtag militias with hunting rifles or worse. Sometimes, they weren't equipped with anything at all and had to scrounge for it. Kind of funny how the Soviet Union and the German war machines switched places.
