When did propaganda become a thing?
Also just post cool propaganda
>>
It's always been a thing anon.

"they're not like us" helps your warrior tribe in several ways. It dehumanizes your opponents so you can do horrible shit to them, and it makes your own feel less guilty about the horrible shit they're doing. At least for awhile.

Propaganda has likely literally been around since we crawled out of the ooze to fight with each other for resources.

The Golden Age of propaganda was WWI+II tho.

I don't think you can count anything as propaganda before the development of the media. It's not propaganda if it's not massively propagated.

in that sense then i would assume after the invention of the printing press

When the first person in a conflict with another thought 'I'll attack their character.'

One only has to look at the glee that liberals feel when the refer to Donald Trump as 'Drumpf'.

There is good propaganda - good as in, effective - and bad propaganda, as above; the only thing effective about the above is that enough people are using it but it betrays all intelligence on their part as it's as damaging to someone as saying 'Your mum'; ultimately infantile and to people with a even a mite of brain power, you look like a fool.

But the pharaoh's achievements were massively propagated in Egypt. Hell Ramses II is the prime example of it.

Do you all think there's a difference between xenophobia during conflict and propaganda?
Propaganda always seemed almost willful and deceptive, carried out by those in power. Is my concept if propaganda just off?
