Lenin was exiled and thus technically homeless. Stalin was literally a streetrat before becoming a commie. Mao was a janitor at a university. Pretty much all of the big commie dictators came from humble beginnings. A lot of the US presidents came from humble backgrounds, but none were homeless. A lot of Latin American dictators, particularly those that headed military juntas, grew up exceptionally poor and joined the military as a result.
