I bought some of the upanishads, what the fuck is going on? Schopenhauer had me believe they would be quite inciteful but I'm not feeling it. Maybe I should stick to STEM if I can't understand this stuff.

If you don't have any experience with spiritual states of mind, meditation, esoteric metaphysics, or can only understand this stuff intellectually instead of in the heart (read: not emotions/sentimentality, but in the deepest strata of your being), you're not going to get it.
