So out of those 12 that existed or mattered, 6 were conquered, 2 were beaten and constantly concerned about the Ottomans, and 3 were not directly effected by the Ottomans.
Ottomans were a major power for a long time, deal with it. Any valid criticisms of them are merely whining without acknowledment of that fact.
