Is there a historically asshole-ier state than this one?

Lived in the bootheel for a short while. Everyone smoked and everyone was poor and few people were taller than 5'9". Catholics are probably the best people in Missouri.
>>1070591
Easily one of the worst 5 states in the union

Oh, and the whole state is disease ridden. You WILL get some kind of fucked up sickness there at least once a year. Don't get me started on the Evangelicals.

In the Civil war, emergency orders uprooted whole cities and forced people to live in the vicinity of federal forts. Fierce guerilla warfare raged in the country side. Whole regions were depopulated.
The most metal shit in the civil war you never heard about.

The city probably extended past the state line after the line had been made friendo

South Carolina, easy.

All the nice, ritzy suburbs are on the Kansas side. You'd think people from Kansas and Missouri could get along more, as they both like the same sports teams and hate Johnson County.
Also, half of KCMO is Kansas ex-pats fleeing Brownback it seems like. Its almost a Kansas colony at this point. No wonder the city has gotten extremely nice, it's having a profound gentrification effect.
Grandpa (former born and raised in Misouri) laughed himself to tears when he saw that fairly odd parent episode when Timmy had to return Huck Finn back to his book. Especially the parts where he talked about Missouri because "It's so true".
Ohio has been an asshole historically on a few occasions. A good portion of their population was placed there systematically through government programs early on after the initial exploration, and due to their placement along the New York > Detroit > Chicago general east to west trade lines they've come across as being couch-laden pricks who feel entitled to things. To me at least.

ITT: Coastal city dwellers pretend that the heartland isn't the best part of the nation.
Alabama stands with you Missouri.

Okay you are being harsh on Missouri, please don't insult the state.

In the standard of assholery, there's always New Jersey.
>>1074270
I'm sure MO feels a lot better now :)
>>1074575
New Jersey is just misunderstood.
