Poland would be slowly eaten by Germans if they win or turned into Soviet Republic if they lose.
From siding with Axis, siding with Soviets and siding with Allies ending outcome were the best. Not good but the best Poles could have.

The thing is Soviets crumble sooner or later.

I kind of doubt this. Germany was trying very hard to court Poland up until at least the spring of 1939. Hitler may have come up with a similar arrangement to South Tyrol with Polish Prussia.

Also UK and France would definitely try to ally with Soviets(which would be much easier as no Poland Issue).
