As a 6'3" guy who went to MMA clubs for a while, I was usually more wary of the shorter guys for their center of gravity and ease of gaining specified muscle mass, and I was more intimidated by them than someone who was around my height. It's different when weapons are involved, it's true.

Doesn't matter. My point was that the trend for Armor design in East Asia follows Chinese styles and that the Japanese one is pretty unique.
Hell, Chinese armor is so ubiquitous, spastic Chinese-Hating Vietnamese nationalists don't realize they illustrate their heroes in Song Dynasty armor. Mongolia's dress uniform is based on the Yuan period Armor which was essentially just an evolution of the Song one.
Chinese armor (well, to be specific, Táng and Song period armor) is to East Asia what the Greco-Roman Armor is to the West: it's classical.

euro casual fashion is great, I especially like the height of the roman empire, mid 19th century and 15th century, however when they try to be gaudy they ALWAYS go too far
mongol casual fashion was fine too, though they were not refined types
arab and indian fashion is quite bland, turbans are a shit
africa is too hot for clothes, cotton armor and such was made plain and practical
central america is hot too but they seemed to develop the piercing, tattoos and headdresses thing to a T, having more access to more resources and trade

Greenwich armor is my favorite type of armor, it was popular in England in the Renaissance and a bit after.
So beautiful, guiding looks so nice.
Regular ol' Gothic plate seems kind of boring to me but that is probably because most surviving samples are unpainted. Painted Gothic plate probably looked quite nice. I like renaissance era plate because it was typically a lot more decorative.
