What are examples of homosexuality in the National Socialist movement?
Ernst Röhm is the obvious example. Is it true that the hard anti-gay stance of the party only emerged after the Night of Long Knives to justify the killing of Röhm and his men?
Another example would be Michael Kühnen, an important figure in the German neonazi movement of the 90s, keeping his orientation a secret until rumors began to spread, writing a short gay neonazi manifesto and shortly after dying of AIDS with many of his comrades in denial about his convictions and cause of death.

The aesthetics of Nazism do attract a certain type of gay man. Rohm saw in his SA a hyper masculine world without women. A world of discipline and honor and power, unburdened by feminine things. It's this focus on masculinity that attracts them, and so there will always be a certain level of gay membership in Neo-Nazi organizations. Closeted, of course.

Also, he has a surprisingly large cult following consisting at least in part of young openly gay nazis.
There's certainly a strong homosexual undercurrent in right wing movements. I think NS / fascism as a whole would be more accepting of gays if technological progress allowed us reproduction without women, which might happen in not so distant future.

Nazi is short for Ignatz and it was pretty much a synonym of "dumbass" in German. The media and political opponents started calling national socialists Nazis as a way of mocking them.
