If in doubt, have some scissors nearby.

If you cannot get your elbows in, it just means it will be a tight fit and you might hear a few threads snap later. Feel around with your hands for the second leg, and shove your arms through. This can be a bit difficult. Once you do, your shoulders and upper chest should all be above the waistband, your arms stuck in the leg. Then have some fun straining against the leg fabric.
If you are a somewhat flexible guy like myself, for most items you can fish an arm out of the leg and get it out of the waistband. If not, you can grab the cord through the leg and pull to get the thing off your head. I have done it a dozen or so times with generic tights/yoga pants. Will be trying with waistband cords next.

Ok, this is the second or third time I've seen them use this knot. Don't use this knot if you consider yourself emotionally attached to your limbs. It is a kind of 'working' knot, used to lift loads - and it is used because you knot it won't come undone under tension. Problem is, if you apply enough tension to the knot, it won't come undone even after letting the rope go slack. If such a case happens when it around a limb, get ready to at least lose the rope to medical shears, and possibly go to the hospital if you don't catch it in time,

If you want to do that, simply tie your ankles & knees in a regular double column tie, make a cinch noose (2 if you want to do your elbows too, though that is much trickier). Tie the noose to the ankle rope (cinch up towards you of course) then make rope "loops" by tying the ends of one rope together and kind of twirling it (you want to end up with a single unbroken circle basically) then put the cinch in the middle of the loop (do not cinch it yet). Lie on your belly, pit your wrists through the loop on either side of the cinch, and pull away from you with your legs. This will tighten the cinch and trap your wrists to your legs.
You will need to cut the rope, as you will not be able to untie it. This will require some research on your part, but it's pretty easy to set up and get into. Be aware that getting your elbows untied is extremely difficult unless you're very flexible, I've gotten stuck twice doing that (first time I had to get the medic next door to cut me out, saying I got into a fight with my girlfriend during sex and she stormed out and left me tied up, second time I had to call my wife to come home from work, both times were highly embarrassing)

Also, if you want to make it more enforced, just stick some scissors handlr first into a small cup of water and let it freeze over night. This will make it so you can't open them until it melts.
