Unfortunately I've never heard of him. Many Jap artists still refrain from using social media, so it's somewhat difficult to grasp any behind the scenes info.
But from my experience - it's not too rare to see artists who suddenly make a comeback after 1 year+ hiatuses.

That's great, I really like his work. Especially how most of his stories turn into giant orgies.
My personal favorite is that one where the group of friends go to some sort of magic hot springs where the attendants turn into the person they want to fuck the most. I'm still kind of hoping for a sequel to that from the girls POV.
