The Gaiden is completely optional. If you're into futa, I definitely recommend it. It's pretty fun, even if you're not into it.
It's essentially an event that happens during TA1 that they don't show in the first game. Or rather, it's a scenario they cooked up right away because they didn't expect the game to be so succesful.
After that, you should do both Murasaki and TA2 in succession. Make sure you get the Complete Edition of the second game, by the way.

Sakura's great because she's nowhere near as powerful, but gets pulled in because she's Asagi's little sister and gets broken just as badly, and often gives in far sooner.
Their ages are irrelevant to me, but I share your fear of 0 being a bad game.
I hope they keep it as dark and twisted as it's always been, and not take this chance to make it more nice/vanilla since it's a reboot or alternate timeline of some sort.

I've been wondering why I didn't like her scenes so much and I think this is why, she's smoking hot and in concept the scenes were good but something was missing and you hit the nail on the head. She's a new character but we don't get nearly enough time to actually care about her or her issues, it feels like they couldn't "just" have her getting raped so they threw in some half-hearted incest and NTR to get you to feel more into it. But it doesn't work, it's even weaker than the NTR in Yukikaze, which was already pretty shit.
I do appreciate them adding her though, she's just overshadowed by pretty much every other girl.
