That footage is from a movie, the bunkers were and are by no means that close to the water. And most soldiers had to swim a bit after getting off the boat.
Tanks would have gotten bogged down in the sand, sunk, stuck in tank traps or instantly porked by canons, so they didn't bring any for the first assault.
They did however assault under cover of heavy shelling and bombings, and the brits had air superiority, that's why they were able to get gliders and paratroopers in behind the Germans.
If you look up some footage of tanks landing and guys unloading supplies after the beach has been captured, you will see that the allies had cleared away tank traps and has put down a bunch of planks to get the crap of the boats easily.
