First webM, looking for advice on increasing quality...converted from an HD source...using Faasoft Video Covnerter
WebM is a good format, but it's no magic: if you want quality, you'll have to give more bitrate.
But here you are limited to 4 MB, thus limited in bitrate.
You can either: decrease clip length or decrease the resolution.
40 secs in 720p contained in 4 MB gives, as you can see, very bad quality.
Also, try 2-pass encoding if you're not already using it.

As the other anon said, either decrease the WebM length, or the resolution. The 4 MB limit does make things difficult when balancing out quality and length so we have to pray for New Moot to up the limit.

You can decrease the resolution way more than you think. leave the bitrate uncapped until you've pushed the resolution down as much as youre comfortable with.
Since here there is a size limit, you can only have two out of
>30+ seconds

> Good bitrate
I personally would cut it shorter and keep at least 720p. Bitrate is the last thing I would cut as fast movement looks like shit if you do (as in your webm)
The one I upload with this post is at 1000-1200 bitrate (not sure) that works well with the resolution. For 720p you want at least 1500kbps

Nice, thanks Anon(s) - here's my second pass at the same clip with suggestions. Cut down the length of the clip + removed audio, set default conversion to High, added 2-pass encoding.

I'll keep working on these settings but satisfied with this for now.
