You're right that it's not debatable. You're wrong in who you think actually has rights here. Blizzard has the RIGHT to hunt down and press charges on the people making the SFM porn. Overwatch is their IP and they have say in what can or cannot be made.
A lot of people on the internet have no fucking clue how US IP law works. You are not protected under "Fair Use". You never were. The people who make fan-art and SFM shit actually have no rights and are at the mercy of the IP holders. If they don't approve of the content they can press charges and they will win in court. Most companies don't care about fan-art because it's free advertising. But the moment you start to monetize shit using characters you don't own the rights to, then you run the risk of rubbing them the wrong way.
Just because these companies don't always exercise their rights doesn't mean they don't have them. Disney has done it and is notorious for doing it.

I think it more of a power move some companies make, if they don't show active involment in getting rid of it then later on it might have "assholes" pointing fingers at Blizzard saying they promote this stuff. Last thing a companies want is for parents and what not to try to sue especially since Overwatch porn has risen so much.
