[spoiler]Are koreans more accepting of western tourists than japan/china?
>>8591007
less. they are the most xenophobic people on the planet. there's nothing here for tourists. there's nothing to see here but litter, cat cafes and buddhist temples (and if you've seen one you've seen them all). go to china or japan. the culture is higher and the people are friendlier.

Neither Japan nor China are unwelcoming of foreigners, that's bullshit spouted by self proclaimed Asian cultural experts who just parrot the same shit they've heard in some worthless Vice "documentary" and have never lived in the countries they claim to be knowledgeable on.
Seriously. They're the opposite of xenophobic, they're xenomaniac. People are curious about you, in a positive way. There is a lot of fascination with Western cultures. All the talk about xenophobia is nonsense, it's usually idiots trying to overanalyze every day situations and finding racism and microagressions where they don't exist.
Of course I'm speaking from the perspective of a westerner. If you're Korean or Chinese in Japan, there will probably be racism directed at you. And same thing the other way around if you're Japanese and living in Korea or China.
But again as a westerner there is absolutely no xenophobia directed at you. Japan isn't as closed off to the world as you think it is.
Source: lived in Japan for well over a decade. Still there.

Don't listen to retards like him.
Many of the expats in Japan and Asia in particular are depressed sad pieces of shit who leave their home country for japan or Korea because they think the grass is greener on the other side. They bring a lot of mental baggage with them, and of course once the honeymoon period of moving to a new country wears out, they become bitter losers.
Moving to a new County ends up exacerbating their mental issues. On top of the already present mental baggage, they now have to add a language barrier and a new social circle to the equation. No wonder most of these idiots leave after 2 or 3 years.
I tell ya... These East Asian countries attract a ton of depressed retards.

It's worth mentioning however that Japan is not a weeaboo fantasy land.
A good portion of apartments still won't rent to foreigners regardless of your income. A very very small minority of establishments bar entry to foreigners - that's overblown. On the other hand the national police agency is an officially anti-foreigner, anti-international organization despite foreigners committing proportionally less crime than Japanese nationals.
Finally, if you're a loser in the USA, you're still a loser in Japan. More exposure to foreigners means that just having blue eyes won't get you chicks in Japan these days.

i've lived in russia, spain, china and briefly in honduras. i love living abroad and engaging in all those cultures i just mentioned. but when it comes to korea... well, korea fuckin sucks bro.

I think any dipshit without an obsessions with Kpop can see that its just a newly rich shit place with way too much emphasis on consumerism and wester pop culture, combined with large inequalities.
But thats just a casual observer's perspective. Seems like countries such as Japan do much better regarding a rich culture and proud heritage.

Looking for webm of two Korean girls dancing topless in front of webcam. It was on /gif last week but the thread died.

I can't speak for Japan, but I've lived in Korea for 7 years, and people are xenomaniacs when you are just their friend, but try marrying someone or participating in society in any other way and there are major barriers. Learning the language helps a lot, but if you aren't Korean you will just always be looked at as not belonging in Korea.

Totally true.

koreans are definetely open to foreigners, more than Japan for sure. Idk about China. I lived in Korea for 1 year and I can tell you they'r very nice and open BUT BUT it's hard to get to know them, spend time with them because korean society is quite strict so seing a girl with a foreigner is not a good thin AND even when they want to hang out it's hard because culture is SO different.
FINALLY the kpop is as far from korean reality as it can get... it's an escape world for koreans (all ages) themselves who watch young girls move their bodies because in real life it does NOT exist
>>8594637
literally no one cares
its sad because korean girls have a tradition to not marry foreigners (there are some who dont follow of course).
Is this how a sexually repressed nation copes?
>>8595979
yes exactly

Would be very nice if south korea decided to open their mind and allow porn.

amen
moved from Seoul to Prague, never looking back. Korea was a huge waste of time and energy. Even the money I made I just spent on trying to make myself feel less shitty.

It is possible to be xenophobic and curious/interested at the same time. The key is that the Japanese are extremely polite - so you wouldn't realize that they really just don't like you from basic interactions.
They can like your stuff. They can be interested in your culture. But, as a whole, many of them don't like you. This is also highly age dependent. I've found that kids and the very elderly are much more tolerant of expats.
Also lived in Japan for about 10 years.

If they did I imagine 90% of K-pop bands would die overnight. Let's not pretend anyone follows them for their music.
