What do you guys use to make webms I've been using some crap software called Aimersoft I can't get decent quality at less then 4mbs to save my live.
The above webm isn't a good example of the shit that comes out of that software. Here's a better one. I would like to make some 1280x720 that aren't terribly short with decent bitrate and keep it under 4mbs.

Yeah, just grab ffmpeg and start experimenting from a console/command prompt, it can process most formats.

Simply use something like:
ffmpeg -i mymovie.mkv -ss 00:00:10.000 -to 00:00:20.000 -c:v libvpx -c:a libvorbis -crf 4 -b:v 430K -y output.webm
Or without sound:
ffmpeg -i mymovie.avi -ss 00:56:26.000 -to 00:57:30.000 -c:v libvpx -an -crf 4 -b:v 430K -y output.webm
Where -ss is start time and -to end time.
Change the value of -b:v 430K to higher or lower until file size / quality is good.

also, if the webm looks like shit, try reducing the resolution
iPhones for example make 4k HD videos with 1920x. you wont make a good looking webm longer than 10 seconds with that resolution.

lightweight, basic, can rip from many porn site or downloaded. i am think there are better out there with more option but here is something to use at the least. can't handle originating file too large or make multiple cut from single video but like i said basic but easy.

gfycat will create 15second webm from tube sites. streamable.com has more control but this will creatw .mp4 and you have to send it to an online converter like http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-webm
I use xmedia recode. There is a video about how to use it on youtube. I made this one with it yesterday. Before last week, I had no idea how to do this.
