I'm a vet of the series and while at first A3 was rough around the edges it has gain a lot of traction along the way, if you are hardcore into milsim then it is a must-have, only negatives would be performance being shit (like the other titles) but generally it is great especially with the modding scene being very active.
I use to do milsim with groups from A2 into A3 but now I just play around with mods and single-player missions, that shit alone will keep you busy and having fun for hours.
I tend to stay away form the DayZ, Island Life, Wasteland crowds, but if that's your thing then go for it.
