That is more what I meant, though the production quality being what it was helped. I mostly just miss the late 80s, early 90s character designs. I can't really think of a better way to describe it than everything looked so lush. Then in the mid 90s stuff like Tenchi and Slayers came along and everything started getting more angular and everyone's eyes were these thin rectangles a mile apart from each other.
