Getting into typesetting, first ordeal will be choosing appropriate fonts that I like.

Anyone have a megapack as a safety net to start with? Some other anon uploaded his fonts, and there's also one on TPB. Just wondering about any really great, but expensive, fonts that might be floating around that I should consider.

Font packs are pretty risky. Don't believe the whole "most expensive fonts ever" garbage because:

A) price shouldn't matter.

Judging by price is like reading the "Top Albums of the Year" list from Rolling Stone. It's always the same people. Bob Dylan has album of the year, every year.

When was the last time you looked at Times New Roman and said "Man, those old Romans must've been pieces of shit..."

B) You're going to default to what you know. Even worse, Illustrator (any Adobe product, really) will take forever to load.

Would suggest starting with finding Adobe FontFolio which does give you a good selection of fonts that are good quality and it's easy to find. Install from that whatever you feel is essential.

Then get Gotham.
