Daily reminder that you're likely getting limited by your m.2 slot in this case. The Samsung 950 can yield speeds nearly 3 times as much as that.
You're supposed to raid NAS drives anyway and have a cache SSD for optimizing performance.
If you think NAS drives are like your typical desktop drive then you're doing it wrong.

Yes, it not dying after a year of running it 24/7 in RAID. I work for a NAS company. Desktop class drive failures are super common. Meme drives would be stuff like surveillance class drives.
