Want to build a PC that's for casual use.
Media, internet, downloads.
No gaming.

But I also want it to double as my surveillance system. I've got 8 cameras from an old kit I want to hook up to the PC and use.

What do I need to do this?
Anyone able to help me get a build together?

does this look like some kind of help desk
just go to partspicker website & look at the recommended lists

Just a lot of storage, I'd imagine.

Picking out parts isn't hard when it comes to building a PC.

But I'm curious what else I need to hook the cameras up and get them recording to my hard-drive.

I was assuming something like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1470EY1513&ignorebbr=1

It has the 8-channel cables that I'd plug the cameras into and connect to the motherboard via the PCI slot. Aside from it being an unknown company I've never heard of, I'm assuming this is a part I'd require?
