Can we have an OC thread?
So I bought myself a i5 6600k and I have overclocked it to 4.3 ghz. I used this benchmark tool and this is what came out of the test.
Is everything allright? Im not good with this stuff desu.
Between I have set mc Vcore to 1.29
Should I try to lower it more or is that okay?
Every single Skylake i5 ever made will do 4.6GHz. If yours can't you're doing something wrong.

This is my best score on the new Time Spy benchmark. i5 is at 4.7GHz and the 1070 boosts up to 2088MHz, though it hovers around 2050MHz.
since it's kinda related, is there any way to overclock a q9600 on a locked oem board ?

Don't lie to the kid, sure the majority will, but you can always get a shit CPU. Luck of the draw.

There are some software OC tools, but if the BIOS wont let you set voltages and bus speeds and multipliers, etc. Then you're mostly shit out of luck.
Software OC might give you a bit of a boost though.

Run Intel burn test or prime 95 for a few hours and report back.
Having a hard time with my 1070.
Runs stable as fuck in UNIGINE at +200mhz/+500mhz, but crashes hard in 3dMark test 2. Tried again at 180mhz, still got the crashes.
Anyone successfully getting +200? I'm sitting at 150 right now.

Is cpu degradation an actual thing at higher (1.3+) voltages? My 6600k is stable at 4.5ghz 1.18v but I wouldn't mind pushing it a bit more.

Yea I had my 750k at max voltage for 4.6Ghz a year and a half later its no longer stable even at 4.5Ghz
I really wouldn't worry about it though, if your a hobbyist and an overclocker you probably wont have the same cpu for 5-6 years to really notice its decline
