okay /g/, I was thinking about upgrading muh pc to a GTX 1070 and a core i7 processor. im currently using a Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 and a EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5. is it worthwhile to upgrade?

Google some benchmarks on the GPU and CPU.
You will gain at best 20% on CPU. And it will be noticeable only in benchmarks, not in normal use. By switching socket you need new mobo and ram as well. Money wasted. Until AMD will start doing something, upgrading your CPU is money wasting when it is just 1~2 generations behind.
980 to 1070. 1070 are overpriced now. And the difference aren't worth the money with current games. Pic related.
Unless some part of your PC dies or some crazy game you really need to play on ultra comes out and your current GPU can't handle, you don't need to bother buy anything in like next year.
