I use them for apps when mains are occupied. TS, Music, Skype, Web, whatever. I expect them to see some terminal use as well in the future probably. Just extra mini displays and have not seen similar done before. I like to try new things and ideas out. So far, most seem to dig em and even a few that frequent here are getting some themselves it appears.

It's a fun little project I've been working on. It's a few servos controlled by an arduino that press buttons on the 3ds. I've currently got it set up to catch shiny pokemon .

That's actually really fucking cool. I've been wanting to start messing about with Arduinos.
Care to elaborate? Have you installed a script on the arduino which essentially moves the joystick left and right in some grass and then runs a series of commands to throw a pokeball or something?

Thats basically it, I have it set for hordes currently so I can go through five Pokemon every 40 seconds. I use a photo resistor to measure how long the bottom screen is dark, because of the sparkle animation it's darker for about a second longer when there's a shiny.
I made a video about a year ago explaining it. Its got a lot of new stuff now but the video gets the basics .

It's real wood and the bulb is just a standard CFL bulb. Not sure the color temperature. Most of the yellow light comes from the walls and the lampshade which is sort of a off-cream.
