My AMD Radeon r290x just died on me. I want something thats better than it, but still at a reasonable price. I was looking into the MSI GeForce GTX 970, but I want to hear your guys's opinions on this.

Also was looking at 970. I can get one for $300 CAD, is it worth waiting for a different card?
Why would you get a 970 over either a 480 or a 1060? Completely retarded.
I keep getting black screen right before login windows screen every time I've installed a new AMD driver.
Now my computer is running without driver.

If you want an upgrade grab either RX480 (and hope DX12 will catch on by the end of this year) or get a GTX 980. The 970 is more of a sidegrade (you wouldn't feel the difference unless you play gameworks titles exclusively)
