Looking nice to buy a new external hard drive to keep movies on, probably around 2TB. Any recs on a good brand?
LaCie
I've had good luck with Toshiba. Have two of them, actually.
Lacie has a good rep but can be pricey.
I bought a WD 2tb for about $70 a few months ago. Good drive for my xbox one.
I have a Samsung 2 TB, which is basically a Seagate, which I had no idea of until I received it.
It's served me will till now, but I'd avoid Seagate like the plague.

I just got my external HDD and I am too paranoid to use it (too much) because I don't want to wear it down. It's a 1TB WD Elements hard drive and I bought it to function as an archive for books, manga and a place to store back ups.

this. my seagate is a fuck up after only half a year
I was thinking about getting a "2TB Seagate Backup Plus Slim". Is there any good alternative other than WD Elements and Ultras for that? I don't wanna get WD cause it seems u cannot remove the 2,5" drive inside.
Have been using a 2TB WD My Passport (USB3) for two years or more. No complaints.
I have a 500gb HP drive.
It's been 7 years and it still works, no problems what so ever.

Avoid Seagate like the plague. Had one go bad on me in less than two years.
