>Heh, no need for a new laptop. These old ThinkPads are still good for another 5-10 years.
What happens after that? Since Lenovo doesn't make any good laptops anymore, and other companies are turning their business-class laptops into consumer-grade Macbook clones...
just get a Macbook

Ill get a P50 in 5-7 years. They are okayish.
Or maybe get some thinkstation desktop and use it for a decade.

Accept the fact if you want something Thinkpad style there will always be a niche but instead of being cheap 2nd hand business laptops they will be hilariously expensive because much like audiophiles, only a select group will pay through the teeth for it.
Then we'll see just how quickly you poorfags move on to just buying "macbook clone" 2nd hand business class laptops.

What about Latitudes?
>implying Lenovo won't release a retro ThinkPad in the next 5 years
>>55571353
It will be incredibly overpriced. Just another reserve edition type deal.
>>55571466
>buy it refurbished or used
I don't see any problem here
>>55571166
>durr no gud laptopz, whuh happen to muh tinkpadz
>implying half of you looking for laptops are actually using linux and completely renovating them with libreboot or have actually bought spare parts from ebay to fix issues you've run into with a thinkpad
>implying there won't always be a market for real people laptops
>implying that time doesn't move forward and trends don't change
Just buy something from ASUS, Acer, HP, or Dell in the $500 range if you need something with some oomph to it.

Latitudes are good, some of them have questionable keyboards but I'm really digging the E7440 and I'm considering nabbing one. I might even get a 7xxx from Dell brand new.

In the future laptops will be all razor thin and have non removable batteries designed to fail after a year. Windows 10 will be non removable and the bios will be locked down to prevent any other os being installed.
Oh wait we are already there now...
I use a Dell Latitude (can't remember the model) at work and they're pretty good.
