Wait for the benchmarks to decide if you want to get one over a RX 480. Be aware though that if it is anything like the demand for the GTX 1080 and 1070 are now, a month from now if you can find one in stock it is probably going to be in the $300-350 range. Regardless it is the Founder's Edition or using an aftermarket cooler.

Idk, the low bandwidth might make it a not so hot option for VR compared to a GTX 970.
Just wait. It'll take months to have decent stocks in, anyways - I think I'll buy a 1070 around october when hopefully ther market has calmed the fuck down.
