Hi /g/ I haven't came here in over 7 years. 7 years ago I came here to ask for some advice on buying a new rig. It's that time again as your spectacular advice lasted me for 7 years of gaming.
I have almost 500.00 to spend on my new rigs backbone. I need ideas for a mobo and cpu. Any help? I already decided on a gtx 970 but I'm not super tech savy so i have no idea on the new cpus out atm etc.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. A mobo/cpu combo around 450.00 would be perfect. I don't need super cpu power as I just want a mid tier gaming rig.

Awesome ty Ill definitely check this out.
What would you think about an
asus z170-a
i5 6600
Comes to about the most I want to spend but they seem decent from what I've read. How's compatability? Or is above miles better for the buck?

I'd avoid asus since their qc has gotten pretty shit lately, and probably bump it up to a slightly cheaper board with a 6600k instead.
From my personal experience, gigabyte is solid, but asrock and MSI have been pretty good lately too
I just came and it felt good

Is this graph showing something good or bad?

yes
>>55549348
Which one?

Bad, the Asus 960 should only pull 75w from the pcie socket and instead is going up to 300W.
Just do this OP >>55546641 with a gigabyte mobo
