Redpill me on monitors, /g/. I'm looking to get a 1440p monitor (or maybe 1080p if the price difference/quality is worth it) on prime day (or some other day, but who doesn't like a good deal). What are good manufacturers and models, and which ones to avoid? Ideally I'd stay under 300 for 1440p, or around 200 for 1080p.
I am not a gamer, will mostly be using for browsing and coding. Would also prefer to have black bezel/stand... I know that's a retarded request but would be nice if I could get that. Also I prefer matte to glossy displays.
Prime day is always garbage. Just find one you like and track it on CamelCamelCamel.

Then 1080p is good enough. For coding you probably want a dual-monitor setup, or possibly an ultrawide. If you really want 1440p avoid the Korean A- panel like Qnix because 5 dead pixels is considered in spec.
1336x768 master race here, will upgrading to a 1080p monitor be sufficient to blow my mind? or should I look into 1440p or 4k or whatever?

there are monitors that don't "just werk" for you?
did you grow up drinking lead-poisoned water or something?

Thanks, I was considering going on 1080 but my fear of 1080 being obsolete as the de facto "standard HD size" in 2 years plus my friend saying to go with 1440p made me change my mind. I'll probably just go with 1080p, I have it at work and it's a good size. Not retardo big, just right.
So, same question. Any recommended manufacturers or ones to stay away from?

Right now it's a weird transition point between 1080p and 2160p, so I find my dual 1440p ASUS PB278's to be a decent middle ground. Pricey, but the colors are similar to what you'd see in an editing bay or truck.

Personally I think 1440 will end up as a bastard resolution as manufacturers focus on just 1080 and 2160.
