iPhones and Mac's have better DAC's than most consumer audio equipment and especially phones. Your point really isn't even related to what that guy is saying. The iPhone still beats the DACs in most phones but any enthusiast is going to do their primary listening on a desktop setup and no phones can drive high impedance cans anyway.
