First for ninefag is a fag
How long are you going to keep ignoring us? I thought you wanted the attention.
>>55502522
I'm not ignoring you.
Also, if you thought I was ignoring you -- and now you're posting about me, then ignoring may also be a viable strategy to get lots of triptention as well.
Do you get a boner when you stay up 24/7 just to start a new thread
Also do you go into full autism rage mode and your tard-wrangler has to pin you down on a mattress when someone starts a thread before you
>>55502551
Last thread was at the bump limit for like 40 minutes, bro. Anyone could have made one.
And no mattress. I just take it out on your mom. The nasty cuntah she is.
>>55502551
He definitely stopped posting his own photos so we could make fun of them in the thread images.
>>55502543
nice kitty
>>55502606
You wish I cared that much
Should I?
>>55502658
Well now you're on the defensive. Just can't let anything go, can you? Claims again and again how little you care, how much little effort you put into here, and yet you never leave.
>>55502677
Why would I leave just because an unintelligent anon says things?
>>55502574
>tripcode

>>55502672
Eh, it's not a design I like, but it's not a bad price if you do.
Keep in mind they have it on a bracelet for a dollar cheaper. You can always switch to an aftermarket strap whenever you desire, aftermarket bracelets are more of a capshoot if they're available, especially for non-iconic models.
>>55502672

The cheaper version looks better

>>55502788
Did you try to shave your arms mate?
>>55502880
i was sharpening a knife and tested it on a my arm hair.
>>55502853
that bracelet and those hands kill it for me. Omega should have kept the sword hands for that version.
To the guy with the old hamilton, could you post more pictures of this awesome watch? And also maybe give us some serial numbers, I really like that model, but can't find it anywhere.
What do you do when you have two or more watches you love but you can only put on one?
>>55504005
Alternate and switch for the occasion Im wearing them for
>>55504005
You've got two wrists don't you? Seriously though I just rotate my watches, a different one each week.
The Raketa 2609.HA might be a luxury movement by commie standards, but it was a fucking pain to work on with how cramped it is, plus the design for the escape wheel shock springs are retarded.
Grampa had good taste though.
>>55504005
Do they have the same lug width?
Would you buy one of these for 55 bucks?
I think Im going to do it.
>>55504194
I think so, they're all g-shocks
>>55504226
Then you know what to do. Get some blue pants, put some velcro on it, a NASA/CSA/Roscosmos/ESA shirt and go cosplay an astronaut.
>>55504176
Now that you're reminding me of my fleamarket Raketa. Going to try cleaning it up.
Along with the newly cased and adjusted Amphibia.
>>55504560
I should try to fix up one my fleamarket Raketas too, out of the many I gutted for the best parts for my inheritance watch. But don't bother removing the shock springs for the escape wheel, you'll never be able to put them back (assuming yours also has the 2609.HA movement).
What the fuck is Archieluxury getting up to these days?
I go to his channel after not watching him for over a year and he's doing some dogshit videos of Japanese train stations the cunt
>>55504736
Im pretty sure he has ran into some personal trouble
So he plays his whoring off as a joke, but is in actual need of the money
That's why he spits out heaps of videos so he can get paid more
>>55504597
I have a very similar watch in the mail bit with a copper/reddish face (the bottom of the two layers is copper red, the top and numbers gold still )
Gramps had good taste anon
>>55504597
So anyway the strap came with a 16mm steel buckle and I want to replace it with a gold-plated one to match the case.
Would a butterfly clasp like pic be too chunky on a vintage watch like this? Case is only about 33mm.
>>55502822
I love this watch. I want one.
I had no idea how loud these were. They sent the wrong size strap, so I'm stuck using a NATO until I get the replacement.
>>55505084
I really want to get an accutron, but the new ones are 2big, and I can't find any good looking old ones on eBay besides the spaceview, and even then they're quite a bit more expensive than the other accutrons
>>55505116
Why would you even consider a new Accutron, they're not even tuning-fork anymore.
>>55505116
I bought this one on eBay. Just got it on Friday. It's actually smaller than I expected, which isn't a big deal. I actually found myself checking it for the date while I was at work yesterday, so it's kind of frustrating that I passed up the one with the date window for this one. Ah well.
>>55505131
I thought they had the tuning fork?
>>55505157
Bulova stopped producing tuning fork movements in 1977. Today both Bulova and Accutron are in name only, the company is owned by Citizen.
TL;DR: American watchmaking is long dead. Anything that you might think is American, actually isn't.
Thoughts on seiko skyliner?
Not me, seller pic
>>55505208
Try finding a Skyliner with a two-tone dial.
>>55505157
No, the new ones are high frequency quartz which still gives you a pretty smooth sweeping seconds hand though.
>>55505231
Looks nice but not seeing any under a few hundred dollars
>>55504597
Oh i managed to destroy my fare share of Raketas.
Though this one needs the dial to get cleaned and also adjusted.
>>55505467
Buying vintage watches online is a typical example how market economy works: you pay more for the better ones, even if they're only better by aesthetics. Better looks = higher demand.
Thinking about buying Casio Data Link 150 watch?
What do you think?
>>55505033
Butterfly clasps are neat, but it varies widely with each person as far as comfyness is concerned.
>>55502476
Nineball are you a burger?
>>55505587
I found one for 150. Is it purely an aesthetic thing for the two layered dial or is there another reason it is more collectable?
>>55505663
Sure if its your thing.
>>55502788
I am not a fan of your weight.
>>55505675
I have one on my Amphibia, it's pretty comfy. I'm only concerned about the size and looks.
>>55504005
xD
>>55505762
Looks should fit fine.
Plus you're giving me an idea. But I'll likely end up with throwing it on a perlon strap anyway.
>>55505763
Didn't he also have a G-Shock? Also fuck him, I still have dandruff.
>>55505763

>>55504201
This isn't an anime anon. You'll look like an idiot.
I might get one of these divers though the bezel edge is a little eh and they are kind of expensive for their miyota movements.
also I dislike their lumed bezels.

>tfw baby wrists

>>55506318
I used to hate this one but now I kind of like the textured white dial.
I'd get it without the date though if I got any of these, I can't stand any date window that was an afterthought to the design. I'm glad this maker has the decency to make an option without the shitty aperture.
I've never understood this need to shoehorn a date window just because the movement you are using has a datewheel. it is rampant in microbrands.
>>55506474
Most people either want a date or don't mind it.

OK, so what watch do you suggests for this suit?
Also: why on Earth provide a watch with compass bearing ring like this >>55498950 when it even lacks a GMT hand??
>>55506938
Why would you need a GMT hand to use a compass ring?
>>55506955

southern hemisphere: gmt hand will point south
>>55507022
you can find north without a gmt hand, but the real question is why would a compass ring be fixed?
>>55506938
>OK, so what watch do you suggests for this suit?
Nothing, since that suit is not done yet. You can bet it will have a bunch of utility shit attached to it like a real spacesuit when it will be used in space (if an SAS will ever be used that is).
>Also: why on Earth provide a watch with compass bearing ring like this...

I'm going to Hong Kong at the end of this year.
Is there any watch related stuff I should take advantage of while I'm there? Or should I ask the the /chink shit/ fags?

>>55507409

>>55507439

>>55507232
>Breitling
Shit.
>Rolex
Deserve all the praise they get.
>Panerai
Owners should be purged, along with their shit watches.
>>youtube.com/watch?v=yB-6v_CDXfc
Case in point
>>55506955
The reason is indeed as explained in >>55507022 though I would point the GMT at the sun and 12 o'clock would then be south. This assumes that the sun is south at 12 o'clock so you have to remember not to mess up with daylight saving.
For astrolabe type watches like the Ulysse Nardin there is also a lunar hand yo can use the same way which comes in handy at night with (near) full moon.
>>55507057
>Nothing, since that suit is not done yet.
Nice dodge. The question still stands. Or would you first prefer a more dramatic astronaut cosplay pic? Hmmm, I have one around somewhere...

Speaking of space watches (he said, desperately trying to wrench the topic away from pr0n), how come the Omega space watch used by astronauts did not have a lunar phase complication, YET Omega now sells one in that line that does??

>>55508371
I didn't think Omega called anything but a "normal" speedmaster a moonwatch
>>55508347
Thanks friend :)
>>55508371
Fashion?
I almost bought that one. It's fucking gorgeous. I tried it on at an omega boutique and it looks even better in person.
The only reason I didn't buy it is because part of the allure of the original design / movement is general reliability, and having that extra moonphase module could detract from that
>>55507232
All of them are overpriced, but at least rolexes are actually good.
>>55505187
>>55505157

I am wealthy and have money to spend. Rolex or Omega and which watch? I'd ideally want a classic one but only one, I don't want to spend too much.

>>55508771

>>55508827

>>55505084
My friend ordered this for $100. He should be getting it in a few days. I am trying to find a good brown leather band for him, I think that it would look good with the gold case.
>>55508771
hard to go wrong with either rolex or omega.
I used to wear an Rolex Explorer (36mm), but it was a bit too small for my wrist. I sold it and bought an Omega PO liquidmetal, which I love.
As for the grand seiko, they are absolutely superb watches. they may not have the prestige with normies as the swiss brands, but the quality, technology and history is wonderful. Don't discount them so quickly unless you just want to show off.

What do you guys think of the 9F quartz Grand Seiko?
I'm interested in it for the luxury, hand made build quality and finishing; but I don't want to get jewed with servicing and what not. I especially don't like leaving my expensive things in the hands of other people for extended periods of time.
Is it worth the ~2k for a new one?
>>55511496
I think if you're going to spend a sizeable chunk of money on a watch it should be mechanical but that's just me mang. Service on a quartz movement isn't required frequently enough for it to be a huge concern, every 10 years or so should be fine and I wouldn't expect it to be hard to find someone to do it.
>>55511496
If you're going to buy an expensive watch you're going to leave it in the hands of other people to fix it.
>>55511555
The 9F movements have a service life of 50 years.
I just dislike having to pay out the ass for servicing. The only other watch I'm interested in is the Explorer I, and that's vastly more expensive anyway.
>>55511572
Well in this case the battery can be easily replaced by me.
>>55511599
>2k quartz movement
>exposed coil
Fuck this gay shit. At least the battery is on the other side of the movement.
>>55511659
Why would you shroud the coil? You can run the risk of ruining the stepper motors.
I don't think there's a single quartz movement without an exposed coil
>>55511599
The 9F has a theoretical oil life of 50 years. But that's not what the intended service interval is.
Certainly if you wanted to minimize how often you send your watch for service the 9F would be the prime candidate.

i hope i could live up to the day when inches will be no more and everything will be measured in meters
I work at Avis & budget and rich people come in all the time with expensive watches. I've only been there for about 2 months, and have only taken pictures of people's rolexes, but I have seen some omegas too.

People with money often have no taste. They just buy the gaudiest piece of shit possible in order to make people notice it.
I work in a bookies, 2 of the regulars have just plain black Submariners, but the tourists who stop in, holy shit, fucking 2 tone everything, yet alone the amount of fakes where the 2 tone is clearly flaking off.
Just the number of fakes makes rolex completely tasteless.

Damn. Is casio cheaping out on all their watches nowadays?
Or is there a sane reason for lack of features?
>tfw want a Submariner or Pelagos but saving up for a house
I guess Seiko will have to do for now. At least its aesthetically pleasing and not too flashy for me.
>>55525732
Unless you're talking about some gold niggered out day-date Rolex is the opposite of tasteless. They're simple steel tool watches for the most part.

safari is a good browser anon
>>55525854
This. Best battery usage of any browser. It adds a whole 2 hours of battery compared to chrome generally.

How are you enjoying the Seikomatic?
Anyone know the best place online or offline to get the best prices on a Rolex?
>>55526106
Their site themselves.
Anywhere else is going to add a whole heap of markup on the highstreet.
>>55526106
wait for a deal on a condition 0 or 1 example on chrono24, offline you'll have to find a decent jewelry store or watch shop in a city. jewelry stores in smaller towns don't always sell used pieces (they will accept trades and sell them online), and their new inventory will be limited and full price.
best deals for new rolex will probably be found far away, in Bangkok, HongKong, Japan, Mexico. many of the places I would never buy a watch from without being able to inspect internals
I did see a new Tudor Pelagos in old San Juan, PR for like 2500, which is pretty good for new.
>>55526276
stores markup from THEIR price, which is about 50% off, sometimes more, a high volume store will be 30% cheaper than direct from rolex unless you buy distributer quantities
>>55525486
>mfw my country joined NATO and all the Soviet-made aircraft had to be redialed from meters (alt.), kilometers (dist.), kilograms (fuel+weapons), m/s (vario), km/h (speed) to feet (alt.), miles (dist.), knots (speed), ft/m (vario) and pounds (fuel+stores).
Sounds retarded doing any sort of calculation involving the planes motion in three completely different units, feet, mile and nautical mile (knots being nm/h).
>>55525486
Only things that should be imperial are roads and the human body..
For everything else Metric is superior.
>>55526361
I guess I'll be going on vacation on one of the destination you listed excluding Mexico/South America. Is AIDS still that bad in Thailand? I also wonder if there's an activity that will keep my GF busy over there while I sample the thai girls.
>>55526772
really not worth it unless you are going to be there anyway buying a 1-3 year old watch in mint condition for literally half price or better is going to be cheaper and save you air fare and customs
>>55526600
Metric is also superior for roads. I didn't realize how messy measurement in miles was until I moved to Canada. Decimals of kilometres looks way better on highway exits and mile markers than "1/2 a mile, 3/4 mile, 1 3/4 miles, 2 1/2 miles" and so forth.
Nobody told me this thing was so gorgeous in person.

>stores markup from THEIR price, which is about 50% off, sometimes more
My only encounter with Rolex on the highstreet has been in a Rambrants in the town I work in.
In the window they have an 8 year old Submariner, with no service history, and scratches all across the glass. They're selling this for £5800. Give or take £60-ish, probably give.
Rolex have the price of a brand new Submariner listed at £6000 on their site.
>>55512699
Nice watch
>>55526928
>Metric is also superior for roads
Once adjusted I guess.
I live in the UK, and the roadworkers refuse to use anything but Imperial, so we're stuck with it for roads. Honestly I feel the use of the 2 systems has settles quite nicely here.
>>55527481
In aviation, altitude & distance are always given in feet & meters respectively so that they can be easily differentiated between even if a message gets garbled.
>>55527356
did it come in that box?
My Pulsar arrived today, it's really nice on the Strapcode super engineer. It's super easy to swap straps too as it's got drilled lugs.
>>55527808
That's the tin it comes in yes.
>>55527808
>>55527859
Yup, hexagonal metal tin inside a larger outer cardboard box.
>>55527835
I was mad you stole my watch for a second until I noticed it was the regular super engineer and not the 2 like mine.
>>55527356
Oh great, more trips.
Why doesn't Seiko produce digitals anymore?
>>55528034
Yeah I thought the softer edges would suit the rounded corners on the watch better.
>>55528272
They do. In fact, pulsar is Seiko. But even under the Seiko brand they make some digitals, but they're ugly
