When will we get a successor for none premium shit?
I'm aware of m.2 u.2 and Sata Express, but none of those seems like a true successor.
Advancing consumer- or enthusiast-level storage is no longer profitable; the future is ssd boot drive and store everything else in the cloud.

They expect me to us the cloud for mass storage with a 50/50 connection?
m.2 and u.2 are the successors, dude.

If you are archiving things long term why do you need anything better than current interface standards? Yes you could always make it faster but I don't know what the use case is for super-fast consumer-level mass storage. If you need that then get the enterprise-level tech.

why would you want a succesor for shitty sata when sas exists?

SAS. It already exists.
But if you really want to complain, go back to IDE or MFM...

I'm not a digital hoarder so I honestly couldn't see myself needing more space and speed than what a 1TB PCI-E m.2 drive would offer. Just a matter of time for the price to go down.
I still use PATA.
