I used to use Poweramp, because when it first came out, it was absolutely fucking king. I've been kind of tired of it since development has kind of halted it seems and nothing but small changes have been added.

Been using blackplayer free lately. Excellent player, excellent UI, and has the same features Poweramp does. Can't be beat.

MusicBee for a few years now, never found anything that simple yet somehow customizable.
It also include a decent tagging tool, I can't see a single reason to use something else/ spend hours customizing a lighter alternative for windows

got Clementine going. I like the album art downloader and exporter. Really nice and easy to customize and organize your stuff. And it's free as in beer and freedom.

A 2nd gen iPod Nano till I fix up a 5th gen Classic

Winamp on PC (since the beginning of the Internet) and Phonograph on Android, since it's very lightweight, has last.fm functionality and scans folders. Best shit you can find for free.
