Hey guys. I recently installed Ubuntu, just to get my feet wet into Linux.

Any tips on how to customize the GUI, media players, make it a more coding friendly environment (Java, SQL, C# mainly), necessary things to install to make it a good workstation?

VLC is a necessity lol

For media players I don't need anything facy, just something that is more efficient rather than bloated with bells and whistles

Except sound graphs. It soothes my souls lol
