Okay then, I'm more than ready to lie about a degree to get a job. I live relatively in the middle of nowhere and any "programming" position that comes up, is
>entry level
>bachelor's degree
>need 30 years of experience
Been at a couple of IT jobs with people with "bachelor's degrees" who didn't know what an IP address is (yes really) and programming "interviews" go about the same the three times anything shows up in my city.
Are degree mills a way out of this? These people weren't having sex with anyone so I assume they lied their ass off too.
At this point, would much rather take the option of bullet in the head than waste my time at school and be 100k+ in debt. Nobody in big cities is ever willing because the answer is always we wanted someone local and usually at that point I only got the call because I was lying that I lived there.
I'd much rather lie and be hopping from actual jobs in the hopes that my performance after the initial few months would be the real credentials. There's no way I'm dropping that kind of cash and time just to get in the door, that's fucking insane and they'll just say no for some other reason. There must be an easier way.
