Consider this.
There's no such thing as a stable overclock.
You are always introducing instability, no matter how small, when you go beyond factory specs.

Even the clock set at the factory is arbitrary, and may be unstable in rare circumstances, which is why server CPUs are often clocked even slower than similar desktop chips at stock.
There is no such thing as truly 100% stable hardware.
My GT540m starts being stable when underclocked to half of default settings.
