Then specialize accordingly.

Learn a new language then, shouldn't take you long. I mean, you have no job, so I assume you at least got some spare time. You don't need to be super good at it, you very likely have to work yourself into some weird framework you've never heard of anyway, so it doesn't really matter. You only need to be good enough to wing the interview, after that you'll get into it eventually.
sorry if this was answered already, but how do you specialize in a language at a university?
i'm honestly worried that people these days complain that university didn't prepare them when in reality they just insisted on never being prepared.
python is a vehicle to learning concepts. it's not bad at that, but you need to be capable of reasoning at a higher level than what's right in front of you.
universities might make the wrong bet that you can do that, but you guys all have to admit that they
A) kind of needed to make that bet on everyone who has already been admitted (imagining for a moment that the instructor of CS 101 has no influence on the admissions committee), and
B) probably couldn't have hedged their bets anyway; if you get someone who's literally retarded and can't do abstract reasoning, you can't possibly hold back a class of ~300 just for someone like the OP.

Python shops are decidedly rare in most places, so if that's the biggest issue, you might be able to try another language. Since you already know Python, these should be pretty easy to pick up.
JavaScript is the most marketable language, Ruby has the best paying jobs, and Java has the most stable ones.
If you make cool projects in any language and show them off in interviews, you can generally get work in those languages.

Professionally? You're somewhat employable if you have flask knowledge, though it's typically because they use Django and have an easier time training up someone with a slight bit of python back-end knowledge

Well rent/housing is about 2x as much, if not more, than places outside london, so £800 if you're lucky to £1400 if you're in fulham. At £1400, you have about as much spending money as I do on £18k since my rent is £400. If you can get it cheaper, London is better. Otherwise, London is nice enough to justify being expensive imo

Dublin's fine, but it's not my home, and there's plenty more of the world out there to see. I studied in Asia for a while, want to get back out and live abroad again before I forget what its like and get stuck here. I'd recommend it if you ever get the chance- expat life is amazing.
