There are many encryption tools avalible for OSX

I use gpg2
>>
>>55415870
I don't do any sensitive activities on my computer - banking, bills, etc are all handled in person (I drive to the branch offices).
Everything else is just shitposting, programming, terabytes of hentai, and dicking about with making Quake maps.
The sensitive information I have is all work-based and I leave that up to the company I work for to be liable for. If something happens, it happens and that's on them.
I don't use facebook, instagram, twitter, snapchat, etc. so I don't have any worries about somebody getting access to passwords which would enable them to take over any of those accounts for any amount of time.

Veracrypt

I use my self made encryption tool. It has never been cracked so it's very good.

veracrypt, entirely for my hentai (mostly just need it to not show up when I do image searches on my machine, I don't really need the actual encryption bit)

idk if this was ironic, but i genuinely have no idea what encrypting means. ive heard encrypting data, but i dont even have a pc
>>

GPG for e-mails and passwords
LUKS/dm-crypt for hard drives

If you genuinely don't know what “encryption” means, then maybe you should lurk for a few more years before posting.

And maybe find a job in the meantime and work on that missing education of yours. Or perhaps you're simply underaged, in which case you need to be 18 or older to browse this site either way.

On my daily Windows PC: BitLocker AES-128 with key stored in TPM. No user interaction during bootup. I'm not using AES-256 because I don't want the performance to take a hit. Recovery key is NOT saved in my Microsoft account.

On my higher-security Linux PC: LUKS AES-256 with passphrase. Personal files are further encrypted.

Where my network traffic might be monitored, I use Tor. Email with anything sensitive is encrypted with PGP if the recipient knows how to use it. Else, I just compromise on a secure-enough IM service.

>And why are you not using it?

I don't see the point, the week point in online banking isn't someone having access to my PC as there isn't anything useful on there it's a MITM or MITB attack, and local encryptions will do bugger all to protect me from those. I can't see how gaining access to the collection of standards and technical approval documents would help your average hacker for that matter, maybe if he was a specialist hired by one of the other half dozen or so companies in the world who do what we do.

Because the police can come and demand the key or put me in prison for five years. It's useless and it just makes me seem suspicious.

What benefit would I gain from encrypting local data? Will it make my PC faster? Will it stop eBay, J Morgan Chase or the US Postal service loosing my data in a breach? How about Home Depot or Trump Hotels?
