I hate it when i buy a new flash drive and plug it in and windows needs to find a driver for it.

It's a cock sucking flash drive for christ sake, There should just be one generic driver for all of them, They are all literally the same!

Linux at least has this figured out, Plug the fucker in and it just works...

Reminds me of when I changed the USB port on my dual book Macbook I had my USB hub connected to.

Windows: Needed to reinstall EVERY driver for everything connected to that USB hub, including keyboard (USB Keyboard, USB HID Device x2 etc). I had to use the builtin keyboard just to be able to log in.

Mac OS: Nothing, everything worked directly.

this game literally died with LotV. Blizzard showed us how to kill a game with expansions and jewish techniques. And with it died the last hope for a good competitive RTS. The same with diablo 3 / hots / overwatch. literally everything from now on is going to be pseudo competitive shit with a small base of pro players and basically no small/local tournaments that people can actually enjoy themselves.

Since OP is a fucking idiot that apparently hasn't used either operating systems, I'll do the post for him.

WINDOWS
>plug in anything into USB port
>please wait 24 hours while we search Windows Update for the correct driver.

LINUX
>plug in anything into the USB port
>nothing has to load in and no windows pop up, it immediately works flawlessly

I've not once had to install a driver for something on Linux. On Windows I have to wait anywhere from 1 to 30 minutes for it to find the driver and install it even if I just plugged the same device into the other USB port.

this is giving me serious flashbacks of doing clean retail XP installs on machines without a recovery disc/partition.

if the PC's vendor didn't provide any nice driver packs to use you could pretty much kiss the rest of your day goodbye because you're going to be spending most of it trying to get all the updates and drivers installed and working properly

don't have a windows machine handy but I've definitely gotten pic related when trying to copy stuff. usually run into it when backing up other people's machines for them

You're going to have a hard time finding a printer that OS X doesn't support. The OS automatically downloads drivers for most printers and printers compliant with the AirPrint spec work without any additional driver installation.

Lolno. On Linux and Mac, you plug in a USB mouse or mass storage device, it assumes it's like every other mouse or mass storage device and just works. This process takes milliseconds. Windows on the other hand will display that goddamned "installing device drivers" box for a good minute sometimes.

>printer with no Linux drivers
Most decent printers do have something usable for Linux. Though I did have to use an XP VM and printer sharing to make some shitty old inkjet work.

>Epson scanner
Actually I have one and it just works in Linux. When I got Win10 though I had to buy 3rd party software to make it work since Epson didn't create a Win10 compatible driver for it.
>>
>>55375858

>>
>>55388424
Depending what you plugged in it might take some doing to make it work. But at least once you have it working, it'll stay that way. I can't even count the number of times some Windows driver or service has just shit itself randomly and caused things to stop working, for no apparent reason.

Tip: If you use Unlocker or Process Explorer (Find -> Find Handle or DLL), you can close the thing it has open on the flash drive instead of killing all of Explorer.

Not that it excuses the clusterfuck, it's just a bit of a workaround.
