microcenter accepts returns even if you do have it out of the static protector, also if you have warrenty you can buy lets just say the best card one year then the new best card comes out the next year you can just turn it in and say it doesn't work (KEEP YOUR RECEIPT) you get all of your money back towards next years card

The power overdraw from the PCIe is soooo meme.
It is not the GPU's responsibility to limit the power draw from the PCIe, if the motherboard can't handle more than 75 watts, it should cap it. Just because a GPU has superior connectors for extra power, doesn't mean it's at fault.
It's no different than complaining about a PSU getting pulled more power than what it's rated for, it's not the hardwares fault for pulling 400 watts when the PSU is only rated at 350 watts.
It's just another excuse for us to allow motherboard makers to be complete utter garage.

Funny story: I was running two GTX 480's at one point (yes, Fermi house fire cards). One day I turned my computer on and a big puff of smoke came out. I found one of the traces on the top side of the mobo blown.
I was running a Corsair HX 850 watt PSU as well.
