ITT: evolution simulations.
Evolutionary algorithms are technology right?

what does this have to do With Windows 10, or the rx480?

You wanna discuss something specific OP? This thread isn't going anywhere without any links/literature/questions
>>55373367
No. Might as well make a thread about the wheel. Sagetta.

Wheels are technology right?
we should make a wheels general ASAP
They are kind of cool i guess, but they only slightly optimize very specific problem solving which humans can very well do. eg finding the perfect cone shape for optimal air flow and all of that.
Been running this for a while, it evolves creatures that can walk for the longest distance.
The best creature can now walk on two legs, but many nodes are still unused.
How would one go about simulating genes and shit?
>>55376199
No, you model a thing as a string then splice them together to make kids and define a fitness function, then kill off the weak kids or leave some anyway and repeat
The hard part is the making a string out of your problem
bump for interest
Make a genetic algorithm for optimizing the Linux kernel for different benchmarks.

Make a genetic algorithm that evolves muh dick
>>55378215
Whats the difference between a genetic algorithm and just brute force?
I'm starting to see 90% of ">muhchine learnin'" is just brute force
>>55378941
Genetic algorithms try to take parts of the best performing configurations, so it's supposed to be more efficient than a brute force algorithm at finding decent solutions.

You got to remember that biological evolution is also meta-optimization, and that is something most genetic algos implementations don't do.
