Do you guys realize we are sitting on the largest financial bubble of all time? Software has no scarcity and therefore can never have value since it is infinitely reproducible. This goes for anything that can be mathematically represented now (Music, Movies, your kiddy Games). Any cmpanies who think otherwise are purely perpetuating the bubble. It's not a matter of if it will crash but when, could be a series of crashes before people realize. As soon as people begin to realize this the stock prices and any values will fall until the ultimate where any companies remotely selling software which is proprietary will completely die. Google, Apple, and Microsoft are purely still in existence because of a lie they have been subconsciously shoveling in consumers heads since birth that it can have value. Programming is not a valuable skill as anyone on earth who needs it has access to resources on how to do it and the end product has no value, much like an essay which takes no effort or resources to publish. All of these digital media markets have been on a crash course since the invention for the transistor and the only ultimate conclusion is a compete crash whether its in two years or in 40.

Except all of those companies also sell hardware.
>>
>>55358153
Software as a service remedies this.
>>
>>55358167
They all use parts from other manufacturers for their devices and their main market is software. The hardware also usually relies on proprietary software to function.
>>
>>55358153
this is how you sound:
"do you guys realize that since the creaton of our solar system we are doomed to die bcs sun will explode. ultimate conclusion is a complete annihilation whether its in 2 billion years or 40"

>>55358167
>>55358184
All of this.
These companies would survive even if all you describe happened overnight.
>>
>>55358224
whatever, at least i am not undergrad faggot like OP
>>
>>55358202
I don't understand what you think your point is.
>>
>>55358247
that we are in a giant financial bubble and software has no value.
>>
>>55358247
>>55358204
>>55358167
>>55358244
We've seen it before with the .com crash and it will happen again and again until people realize.

>>55358184
It does but I don't exactly see some of the most malicious companies on earth hopping on board to adopt this and OP doesn't sound like he's much for economic protectionism.
>>
>>55358272
And what the fuck does that have to do with what you said here?>>55358202
>>
>>55358153
What is copyright?

I could kill 1000 people with a $1 knife. Does this mean that the value of human life is just a huge bubble and that mass, mass killings are inevitable? No, because nobody's gonna let me sit there and murder indiscriminately.

XaaS are not infinitely reproducible and that seems to be the direction things are heading now.
>>
>>55358153
software isn't just video games, Windows or LibreOffice. most of it is custom made enterprise software
>>
>>55358433
You can't copyright math and enough monkeys will eventually write Shakespeare, it's a dated and flawed idea to protect something from failing that shouldn't be protected.
>>
>>55358437
i'm investing in genocide as a service
>>
>>55358465
>You can't copyright math
You can copyright a sequence of math.

can't wait for it to happen

>tfw born too late to drag the Romanovs out of their house and club them to death
>tfw born just in time to witness the end of digital oppression

So you are saying I could copyright something like a theorem? that's fucking stupid
>>
>>55358153

Really makes you think

>Do you guys realize we are sitting on the largest financial bubble of all time?
Yes, but it's advertisement. Companies like Google and facebook are only valued as highly because of the massive amount of user information they have and advertisers believe that will help them sell their products due to "targeted advertising".
>>
>>55358518
You can't copyright a word, but you can copyright a sequence of words, such as a book.

He said in the OP that people are overvaluing the act of programming far too much as well as anyone can do it and as long as it's proprietary people can publish the worst fucking code imaginable.
>>
>>55358532
but the product they are selling ads for has no value and as people start to block ads with... software it will fail
>>
>>55358153
Retard shit, software isn't scarce but good software that a) does what you want and b) has commercial support doesn't grow on trees. You can pump out infinite hello worlds but that doesn't reduce the value of some specialised manufacturing plant operation software.
>>
>>55358550
>as long as it's proprietary people can publish the worst fucking code imaginable
I regularly cower in shame before falling asleep at the thought someone will eventually read and maintain the code I wrote in my previous job
>>
>>55358602
>You can pump out infinite hello worlds
I object your claim. It is not possible to produce an infinite amount of hello world programs.
>>
>>55358153
You're right, apart from the part about programming. There's people getting paid to develop Foss software, because it's needed. Since programs are reproduceable, programmers should be hired to create something that you want development on, say, a Web service or Linux kernel. Not selling a product.

Patreon and Kickstarter could have been used for this(instead of being sjw and scamming platforms)
>>
>>55358625
Didn't stop me hello worlding all over your mother last night

My bluetooth speakers lag on my PC. Any solutions?
>>
>>55359012
Buy different speakers that are connected by cable.
>>
>>55358625
>add variable with random bits that isn't even used but who cares
infinite hello worlds
>>
>>55358153
You've never had a job, have you

Or at the very least, you've never had a job in tech

Either that or you are legitimately retarded
>>
>>55358153
The scarcity is the labor, genius

There aren't infinite people with infinite time to program. Scarcity isn't just limited to physical tangibility
>>
>>55358153
Artificial scarcity is a real thing. If you want to make a case that artificial scarcity will go away in the future, please do. I personally don't see any trend that would suggest such a development.
>>
>>55358534
>copyright addition theorem
>markets everywhere have to pay you license fees to function properly
>someone invents multiplication
>sue them as its just addition multiple times
>sit back and enjoy life

Good luck on your impossible venture.
