Based upon what? The 5870? They haven't made a decent card in years including the 480. It's hot, overruns its TDP, overdraws power from the PCIe slot, underwhelms in its performance, and has negligible overclocking headroom. It fails in almost every way a new architecture can which leads to a low price as the only way to sell them.

I wasn't going to reply to this obvious troll thread, but this triggered me.
AMD actually is the one relying on the cpu much more than nvidia. That's the reason they present their gpus in systems with string Intel CPUs. The slightly better price in gpus is negated by the much more expensive cpu needed to utilize the gpu.
