It's decent enough. The problem is the shitty screen (and a better one would cost a massive premium), if you write without looking at the screen too much, you'll be fine.

It'll be fine, but I'd consider an X200, X210, or X220 with the IPS display option, but if you prefer the slightly larger form factor, then by all means the T400 is a good buy.

Sounds like a great screen for the vertical resolution for what im going to use it but is it horrible to look at?
